Why scientist claimed ‘soul DOES live on after death’
A SCIENTIST claimed life after death may be possible, after tests showed the human soul does not die alongside the body, a documentary revealed.
Life after death is the belief that the essential part of a humanโs identity continues even after the body dies. There are many different theories as to how the afterlife may play out, with different religions having their own ideas on whether it is a spiritual realm or through reincarnation. Either way, UK scientist Dr Sam Parnia believes human consciousness does live on after we die.
He revealed during Morgan Freemanโs Netflix show โThe story of Godโ how he studied more than 100 cases of cardiac arrest survivors.
These are patients who technically died and came back to life, and Dr Parnia revealed how a large percentage had bizarre experiences when they did.
He said in 2017: โWe know that actually for thousands of years, people who have come close to death for any reason have had these very profound, deep and in some ways mystical experiences.

โThey may describe a sensation of actually meeting deceased relatives, friends, or others that they donโt really know.
โSo I think what we are beginning to understand is that we have very much a universal experience of death.”
Dr Parnia, who is director of the Human Consciousness Project at the University of Southampton, explained how these first-hand accounts can be supported by science.
He added: โItโs important to understand that when a person is dying and theyโve turned into a cadaver, itโs only at that point that the cells inside the body start to undergo a process of death, which can take hours, if not days.
โSo actually we have this window of time where we can bring people back to life and the experiences that they have given us is an indication of what it is like to go through death.
โToday we call the soul consciousness in science, so we can test the theory scientifically.
โThe evidence we have is that when a person dies, that part that makes us who we are โ the soul or mind, or whatever you call it โ it does not become annihilated.โ
Unfortunately, scientists are not sure what exactly happens to your consciousness yet, but it will not stop religious followers from speculating.
Some, including Christians, hold the opinion that your spirit goes to heaven if God gives you divine judgement based on your actions and beliefs during life.
However, if you have not lived an honest life, Christians believe you go to Hell โ the lowest and darkest place of the universe.
